History of the Queen's Cup

The Queen's Cup Steeplechase, inaugurated in 1995, is an annual event held on the last Saturday of every April. The race takes place at the spectacular grounds of Brooklandwood in the historic Town of Mineral Springs, just minutes from the I-485 beltway. The new state-of-the-art racecourse is considered to be the finest steeplechase racecourse in the United States by both spectator and horseman alike.

Produced by the Charlotte Steeplechase Association, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is an Association with a heart. The charitable organization we support through donations and awareness is the Catawba Lands Conservancy. Charlotte's local land trust, the Conservancy supports the Association by providing volunteers leading up to and on race day. Over $300,000 has been raised for our charities since 1995!
